Hurricane Beta; Current Conditions

Author: Lance Winslow

Well it finally happened Hurricane Beta has formed and gets ready to beef up its winds and barrel towards a Bay; but it is to early to say, which bay that might be. One thing is for certain slow forming Beta is showing us once again that you do not have to be big to flood out the region. In fact Tropical Storm Alpha, before joining Hurricane Wilma washed out and wicked raged terror on Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Twenty-Six people drown to death in Haiti from Tropical Storm Alpha and it never actually made Hurricane Status.

So far with Tropical Storm winds of 60 miles per hour tropical storm Beta is only one step away from Hurricane Status of the coast of Nicaragua. Now remember Nicaragua's "Mosquito Coast" can only handle so much rain and tropical storm - Hurricane Beta will hover off the coast of Nicaragua for anywhere from 48-72 hours deluging the area with rain, meaning with very large mountainous terrain in the neighborhood of 4,000 and 5,000 foot peaks that means continuous flooding and mudslides in an area already very wet from this season.

If Hurricane Beta hits makes actual landfall it will be trapped producing more weather for days on end as the storm dissipates, but that energy could easily combine with other storms in the region and make for a really big next storm. Or it might be pushed out to sea on either side of Central America to reform and cause more chaos. Think on this.
