Starting a Mobile Auto Detailing Company in 2006

Author: Lance Winslow

How hard is it to build a customer base in a mobile car washing or mobile auto detailing company? You simply get a trailer or pick-up; load it with equipment supplies; make up a flyer and go make money right? Well yes and no. It is not exactly that easy, but indeed it is not that hard either.

Once a customer base is built then you would need to work on efficiency. Once you have a substantial market base and are ultra-efficient in your methodology, you can reap the rewards of all that hard work building your little company. Here are some links to free information;

The ability to build quality clientele is key, anyone can low-ball and rapidly create a customer list, that maybe a good strategy at first and weed out the slow pays and clients, which are not within your maximized routing areas.

To stay profitable in auto detailing a 150 mile radius is much too far to cover and very costly in travel expenses, even if there is little if any competition in the area. Best to stay within 35-mile radius in my opinion or be extremely careful in scheduling. In rural areas as most towns or areas of people are 5-miles apart at cross roads thirty-five mile radius is 7 cross roads from your base location? All abstract thought on this topic, as every area is a little different. In cities issues with traffic can bite you in the rear, as the time travel is a killer. I hope you will consider these tips in 2006.
